Crohn's disease (CD) is a type of chronic inflammatory condition of the gastrointestinal tract.

Crohn’s disease mostly affects younger people (late teens, 20s and early 30s), although it can occur at all ages. It causes the digestive tract to become swollen and irritated. Patients experience symptoms like abdominal pain, diarrhea, weight loss and rectal bleeding.

Management for Crohn’s disease can include medication, changes in diet and nutrition, and surgical procedures to repair or remove affected portions of your gastrointestinal tract. CD affects about half a million people in the US and its incidence rate is on the rise.

Stem cell-enriched products have been reported to promote an anti-inflammatory response in CD patients.
